April 2026 Reading on St. Augustine
“He rose again; he who was dead is alive… Death came through one man, and through one man came also the resurrection of the dead. He conquered death by dying — think about this wonder. He went down into death, and death was swallowed up… We too shall rise. This is our hope, this is our faith, this is why we are Christians. If you believe the resurrection, then live in such a way that you deserve to rise to life, not to condemnation… The Lord’s resurrection is our resurrection — he is the head, we are the members. Where the head has gone, the members will follow… Do not cling to this present life. Love the life that does not end.”
St. Augustine, Homily 234.
